TINTGARDEN™
Accessibility
How Tintgarden works with the accessibility features of iPhone and iPad, and what is still missing.
What the game supports
Light windows and menus with dark text; the pink-orange buttons carry dark ink at about 5:1 contrast or better. Coloured beds have thick dark borders, and flowers and crosses are shapes, so colour is never needed to play. A wrong flower wilts, and a banner names the rule it breaks while the row, column or bed lights up. The system Reduce Motion setting removes shaking, pulsing, flying petals and confetti, and the paint fades in instead of zooming. Menus, settings, the shop and the gallery carry VoiceOver labels; VoiceOver reads hints and mistake explanations aloud, and an open window hides the board behind it. Hint banners and menus follow the system text size.
Playing with one finger
Everything is played with one finger. In Relaxed mode a tap plants a flower and the game crosses out the cells it rules out, so a tap is all you need. In Expert mode you cross out cells yourself: hold a cell, or drag over several. There are no time limits: the clock on the daily garden only counts up. Sound, music and haptics can each be switched off in Settings.
Known limitations
The board itself cannot be played with VoiceOver or Voice Control. The level title and the numbers at the top don't grow with the text size, and hint banners close after a few seconds (later with VoiceOver on). These are on our list.
